Indications
Prophylaxis and treatment of hemorrhagic disease of the new born
Forms and strengths, route of administration
1 mg in 0.5ml ampoule (10mg/ml, 0.2ml), for oral administration, IM or slow IV injection
Dosage
Prophylaxis of hemorrhagic disease of the new born
By IM route, the day of birth.
Neonate < 1.5kg: 0.5 mg single dose Neonate > 1.5kg: 1 mg single dose
Contra-indications, adverse effects, precautions
May cause: allergic reactions, especially by IV route, haematoma at IM injection site.
Pregnancy: no contra-indication
Breast-feeding: no contra-indication
